Periodontology

Inflammatory disease affecting the tissues that support the teeth, known as periodontitis, is a quite common disease that occurs even among young people. It starts very slowly and is often overlooked by patients. Early symptoms include gum bleeding and halitosis (bed breath). When not treated, it may result in tooth motion and eventual tooth loss.

Effective prevention consists of regular professional dental hygiene where patient acquires correct cleaning techniques and learns to use correct tools for oral hygiene. Another step in prevention is regular dental check-up.

Improper or no treatment may lead to loss of bone structures and loss of teeth.
